"Co-Founder and CEO of Backstory. Business dude by day. Hacker by night. I also co-founded WeWork Labs. I build, I sell, I sail." -- My Twitter profile

I grew up in a small town with only a few houses called Pleasant Valley.  My parents are both self-employed and have been for as long as I can remember.  That's probably where I get my entrepreneurial spirit from.

As far back as I can remember, I have been using technology in every aspect of my life.  From my first TI computer through my Apple IIe and my Power Mac 7100 and finally onto my Lenovo T400s and my Nexus One that I have today, they've paved the way to my eventual career.  That's right, I'm an info tech guy.

The first time I really got into computers as a job was in high school when my school district hired me to work on the network and the computers as a summer time job.  This didn't last too long though.  As soon as I was back in school I was reprimanded for "hacking".  Okay, it wasn't actually hacking (packet sniffing for passwords doesn't count) but it did get me in trouble.  This ended my short-lived career with the school district but launched me into a network security role when I got to college.

I spent some time working as a network engineer and network security guy at a big 'ol manufacturing company in Concordville, Pennsylvania and then moved onto Rohm and Haas (now Dow Chemical) as a network consultant for a bit.  Both were fun but I figured out that my passion lay in the technology that was moving our world forward -- not locking down systems and keeping people out.

My next two stops in life were with a consulting company in Pennsylvania and a security company based in Italy.  Telecommuting can be hard but it was totally fun!  I gained quite a bit of experience in the web technology world and the world of SaaS products and utility computing.

Next, I was at LivePerson as the Technology Trailblazer and Director of IT and resident sailing expert (just check the business card below).  I had a blast and was super happy with the people I worked with but eventually I decided to start a new company in the healthcare/wellness technology space.

I'm started GetMinders where we were trying to change the way that people and healthcare (specifically medication adherance) interact. Stop over at the site and check out what's up.

Today I'm 100% focused on Backstory where we provide the ability for any website to customize their content on the fly for each and every visitor who shows up. I also run (that falls into the 100-110% of my time arena) an awesome shared office space called WeWork Labs where we host a ton of amazing, smart and friendly entrepreneurs.

Hit me up if you'd like to chat, share technology stories or simply rant about something I've done.  I'm always up for listening (and tea).

Also, check out what other people (and I) are saying about what I'm doing (oldest to newest):
