Hey Groupon, will you go mobile?

I'm a huge fan of groups and an even larger fan of group buying power so it should come as no surprise that I love Groupon, YipIt and all the others out there.  They all offer me awesome deals every day for things that I may or may not have bought on my own anyway.  But they are also all missing something that I crave.  Instant notification and purchase power.  I've been knocking this idea around for a bit now and I'm going to share it with all of you.  If you want to build it, be my guest.  Groupon, if you'd like to add it into your product, I'd like that too.

The idea seems simple enough.  I would like to receive a text message when the newest deal is posted.  In under 160 characters, you can share the details.  Today I'm interested in Groupon's side deal: "The upcoming book from Zappo's CEO Tony Hsieh, shipped for $10!".  The book retails for $24.

Now this is where I see it getting interesting. That's only 63 characters so we have 97 to spare.  I'd like the message to end with "If you'd like this deal, text IHEARTZAPPOS."  I reply with the word (or phrase) and voila, my purchase is secured.  I'm notified when the deal tips (actually becomes available) via text too.  The best part is, I never had to leave my daily routine of hopping on the subway in the morning and I'll have better luck getting it before it sells out.

What do you think?  Would you text in to get an awesome deal like this?  Are there dollar amounts you'd be willing to part with over SMS and others you wouldn't?
