Supporting a good cause: Love Drop

It's not always easy to find time to help others out. We're all busy working hard, playing hard, raising a family or simply taking a rest on the couch after a long week. Thankfully there are organizations out there dedicated to helping others. Love Drop is one of them.

I've been a supporter of this site for a while now. These guys describe themselves as "a micro-giving network of people who unite as a community to help one person or family a month". Honestly, that pretty much sums them up perfectly. You can donate money (or services if they're helpful) every month to support one family or individual. It takes about 3 minutes to setup and you'll be helping out someone/people in serious need.

This month the Love Drop team is helping out two sisters, Lucy and Tracey.

This month we’re working with two of the sweetest sisters you’ll ever meet. Lucy was a healthy young woman until last fall, when she discovered that she had aplastic anemia, a very rare, life-threatening disease. A bone marrow transplant is Lucy’s best chance for survival, and her sister Tracy is a perfect match.

These two women and their family are sticking together and working through the toughest time of their young lives, so this month we want to join forces with them and provide six months of insurance payments for Lucy, for a total of $3,000. As a thank-you to our team, the family will be sending out special “Lucy” bracelets to anyone who gives $25 or more.

While everyone helps out in their own way, I find this organization to be super personal, caring and dedicated to an honest cause so I choose to support them. I hope you will too.
